Currently my students have access to books that I have collected throughout my student teaching. I order books whenever I have Scholastic points, but many of my students are not in a position to purchase books very often. I want to give my students opportunities to travel to new places through access to books! My students have a wide variety of reading needs and I do not have the materials in my room to support every level. I use books in every lesson I teach and try to choose books that allow students to see themselves in that book. With any given lesson, we use our books to discuss emotional issues, current world issues, and how to become fully immersed in a magical world.
