Learning in a Flexible Classroom!
Funded Aug 13, 2020I wanted to thank you, again for your generosity. Due to covid, not all my students have been able to take advantage our new flexible seating options.
The students who are in person with me, however, jumped at the chance to experiment. They were delighted to see new items in the classroom. We have talked about the options that they have and how they do not need to ask permission to change their seats. I find that students are able monitor their own behavior and utilize the flexible seating when they find that they are losing focus and/or patience.
Because we also start our morning with some mindful meditation, my students have also used the wobbly chairs to find their center. It is a treat to see.
I cannot wait for all my students to be able to take advantage of the options that are now offered in our classroom thanks to your generosity. Thank you, again!”
With gratitude,

Funded Oct 9, 2020I want to thank you, again, for donating the funds to purchase the document camera. Technology is essential to our learning everyday. Using it in different ways allows teachers to reach every single one of our students and meet them at their individual level as we know that every student learns differently and at a different pace from their peers.
While it has been helpful to use the annotate feature on WebEx, the document camera has allowed me to, in real time, I have used the document camera in our 1:1 Writers Workshop to develop their editing skills and to set my expectations of their handwriting. In addition, I have been able to model proper reading strategies with the document camera. The document camera has supported our math instruction as well. I have a number of students that are clearly more visual learners and have greatly benefited from the document camera.
Your support is greatly appreciated it. It has not gone unnoticed, and will always be appreciated. I will be sure to pay it forward in the future. Again, thank you very much.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Maldonado
