Running an after school art club is one of the most rewarding things I do as a teacher. In most of my students cases, they don't not have the resources at home to really fulfill their love art. For students who struggle with reading, math, and science, most of my students find in art club a safe space where they can develop their talents and increase their self esteem. In our after school art program, we have worked all year on learning the basics art: line, space, color, and balance. In the second half of the year, I would like to expand students understanding of art concepts by giving them experience with three dimensional art. Our students artistic skills and expressions are limited only by the supplies we have access to. The supplies I have chosen will give students the opportunity to try out a new medium as well as replenish some of the materials that are dwindling in our classroom. We will also have more materials on hand for students to use during our studio art time at the end of the school year.
