Working Together to Become Great Readers

My class is loving our new work area. The students enjoy reading and working together while sitting in our new learning spot.
When they entered the room and saw the new table and chairs they were so excited and couldn't wait to sit and get to work. This space is used often. Whether the space is used for reading or writing the students are always happy.
Today the students took turns working at the reading center at the table. They enjoyed looking through and finding a new book to enjoy. They then shared the book with their group.

I’d like to create comfortable spaces throughout the room where kids can get lost in a book. Giving students options to address their varying needs will help keep an active group settled and allow them to focus on reading great books. The best way to help a child to become a better reader is by allowing them to read good books at their level. I’d like my classroom to be a comfortable place where kids can enjoy picking a spot and getting lost in a book. Help me meet my students' needs and give them a whole new place to read!
