New compound microscopes for my students will help them explore the world around them. They are very inquisitive learners and do well with hands on activities. Microscopes will help my students explore many different scientific concepts. For example, my students can use these tools to help understand different water ecosystems and understand the cell. We recently did a science activity where we grew algae and our microscopes that we do have are older and most do not work correctly. If we had newer functioning microscopes, my students would have been able to see and identify the algae instead of struggling with equipment that did not want to work.
