Many students struggle with making it out of bed in the morning to go to school because every student knows they will have to apply themselves that day. My goal is to create morning choices so that students are not immediately working on subject matter, but working collaboratively with peers to play, build, and create different things. Based on a 2016 study, statistics show that there was a 24% decrease in tardies after implementing morning choices for students. Morning choices would allow my students to come in and make a choice of what they would like to do versus having to do traditional morning work. Please help me give my second-grade students an opportunity to have morning choices as opposed to the traditional morning work! My goal is to create a space that is fun and inviting for my students and for them to want to come to school each day!
