Calculators for Success
Funded Mar 28, 2024On behalf of Brookside Middle School, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of calculators to our organization. Your support makes a significant difference, and we are truly grateful for your kindness.
The calculators you provided are already positively impacting our student's testing experience. These tools are not only enhancing their learning experience but are also empowering them to reach their full potential in their studies. With these calculators, our students can access essential resources that will help them excel in their academic pursuits and beyond.
Your generosity reflects a deep commitment to education and community support, and it is donors like you who make it possible for us to continue our mission. We are thrilled to have your support and want you to know that your contribution is making a tangible difference.
Thank you once again for your thoughtfulness and for believing in the value of education. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to keeping you updated on the progress and successes of those who benefit from your generosity.”
With gratitude,

Sensory Room
Funded Apr 6, 2023Thank you for donating to our sensory room project at Fruitville Elementary School. Your concern about the need for a space for students to go when they are feeling overwhelmed and need to calm down is above and beyond. Thanks to your support, we've been able to help not only the students with Autism but any student who needs a place to go when they are feeling overloaded with emotions.
The impact of this project is that students can go to this room when they are overwhelmed in their classroom, have calming lights, sounds, and fidgets to relax their bodies, and then rejoin their classroom in a better frame of mind. Their learning then resumes, and not much instructional time is lost.
Thank you again,
Dr. Nicole Shinall”

This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT.Calm Down Corner
Funded Nov 28, 2020My students are enjoying the new calm-down corner. They are using it when they need a break from classroom instruction. It has really helped my students who have sensory needs to have a place to go to get away from all the stimuli. In the corner, I have added little signs that they have phrases and pictures on strategies they can use to assist them in calming down such as taking deep breaths and counting to 10.
When my students first saw the Calm Down Corner built, they were very excited. The outside is very child-friendly and inviting with calming colors and a sign that says, "Calm Down Cloud." The inside has the calming strategy posters with a rainbow of the strategies. The seats are cushiony and soft, along with the pillows and stuffed animals that are in the cloud. We have added leveled reading books to the cloud for students who want to read during their sensory break.
The next steps for this project include purchasing some sensory or fidget toys for the students to use while in the cloud. Sensory toys would include stress balls and fidget spinners. These help the brain calm down when it is overstimulated, which occurs quite often in my classroom.
Thank you for all your support. My students are enjoying the Calm Down Corner and using it daily.
