Thank you so much for your generous donation towards the wonderful new books in the library! I am so grateful; but more importantly, our students will be grateful as well. The students will be so excited to read these next books in the series. Your generosity and support is so appreciated. Our students will enjoy the books!”

  • Creative Literacy

    Funded Apr 22, 2024

Thank you so much for funding my project! The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card was very helpful in purchasing some fun lessons for my students in the library! We did a Folktale unit with a great amount of fun and engaging lessons for each grade level.

I was able to find some activities to pair with various books. These activities really enhanced the stories that we read and gave students a better understanding of each one. There were also some creative activities for the students to participate in.

Once again, I really appreciate your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Caird

  • Technology and Literacy

    Funded Sep 5, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to my project! These iPads have been a wonderful addition to my library lessons! All grade levels have benefitted and will continue to benefit from using these.

So far, we have used the Flip app to record messages, disguised turkeys using the Chatterpix app, and browsed through the digital Scholastic News magazines. This is just the beginning! There are so many more possibilities for engaging and exciting lessons.

The students are quick to learn the apps and are very excited to try new activities.

I really appreciate your donations and support of my library and school!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Caird

  • Exciting Library Lessons

    Funded Aug 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my project! With the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, I was able to purchase some great resources. I purchased an organization system for checking out books that has made checkout much more efficient. I purchased 9 weeks lesson plans for K-5, that have really enhanced my lessons.

    Other items I purchased were:

-lessons on care of devices and chromebooks

-parts of a book lessons that included a dice game to roll and record parts of a book

-STEM activities to go with the book Creepy Carrots, that included building a fence that all grade levels did an amazing job with!

I have enjoyed bringing these lessons to my library and the students from all grade levels have enjoyed them.

The puzzles are also a big hit with the students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Caird

  • Junior Fiction and Refresh

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Thank you so much for funding this project! The students are really enjoying the books that were purchased by your donations!

The Junior Fiction section contains some beginning chapter books with a few chapters and more pictures, and appeal to first and second graders, and even Kindergartners. The older students enjoy them as well because they are quick, fun reads.

The refreshed classic books are also enjoyed by the students and feel like new discoveries to many students.

All the students at my school, from Kindergarten to Fifth grade are benefitting from your donations towards this purchase.

I am very grateful for your generosity.”

  • Grabbing Graphic Novels off of the Shelves

    Funded Feb 20, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations to fund my project! Thanks to you, I was able to get additional copies of some of the more popular graphic novels as well as some new copies to replace the well loved books.

Graphic novels are really popular among all students and are such great options as they encourage even the most reluctant readers to read! The illustrations add so much to the understanding of the story.

The books I got are various reading levels and interest levels, so every student in my school will benefit from having these books in the library.”

  • Library Supplies

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my project!

These supplies have helped greatly with all of my library classes and lessons. The pictures I provided are just a few of the great ways in which your donation helped. The zipper storage bags have been helpful in leveling sets of books for teachers to check out for students in our book room. The crayons and scissors have helped make lessons run smoothly as everything is easily accessible to students. The dry erase pockets and markers have helped with saving on paper as the students can erase their work and the page is ready for the next class.

The book tape has helped me to repair books and get them back on the shelves for the students to enjoy.

All of these supplies are very useful and very appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Caird

  • 3D Creative Literacy

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation to this exciting project! The students are loving these new tools (And so am I!). We have just begun trying all the neat things we can do. To test them out, we did some simple shapes, and then we attempted to make numbers and letters "stand." Some were successful and some will need more practice. Either way, the students loved the activities and were very engaged the entire time!

I have some more fun lessons planned with these! When we discuss fairy tales, I hope to have students make some props using the 3Doodler and then retell the stories. For the younger students, I hope to make letters and then combine the letters to make words.

What a wonderful, innovative learning tool you have provided! Thank you very much!”

    Mrs. Caird

  • Engaging Lessons in the Library

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thanks to your donation, I was able to do many fun and engaging lessons with my students in the library! Teachers Pay Teachers is a wealth of resources and ideas and I was able to use the donation to purchase some wonderful resources that I used for all grade levels.

I purchased several lessons on reference materials and the Dewey decimal system which included slide presentations and practice activities to go with them. I purchased some awesome STEAM activities that correlated to nursery rhymes and fairy tales that kept the students excited and engaged.

Once again, thank you for supporting my project and my eager students!”

  • Innovation in the Library

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations toward my awesome technology! At first the requested items were not available. However, after much researching and communication with the donor's choose team, I was able to get iPads as well as some other technology to use with them!

So far, we have used the iPads for researching various topics on the PebbleGo app, and then brought our research to life using the "Chatterpix" app. Students are able to read books through the epic! app, read non-fiction articles through the Scholastic News app, and upload pictures and work onto the "Seesaw" app.

All of these activities have and will continue to make learning more innovative, creative, and fun. The students will be more engaged in their learning and will collaborate with others to complete tasks.”

The students in my library classes will use Legos to create characters and setting scenes to tell and retell stories, which will focus on both STEM and literacy skills. Integrating both STEM and literacy skills collectively will fully engage the students to be active learners. Using the Legos, students will create an original story or retell a story they've heard by using their creations. They can also use the letter Legos to reinforce spelling and phonics skills. They may work together as a small group, in pairs, or individually. Having these items will help students not only stay engaged in the lesson but learn to create in unique ways.
