• A Enjoyable and Organized Classroom

  My students were so excited when they seen how clean and organized our classroom was. They were so happy that they could find their favorite sensory toy that was stored in their personal containers.

  Having an organized room with students having their own personal containers and items that they can use makes students my students feel comfortable. It also makes teaching so much more smoother.

  The morning goes by by so smoothly because students know exactly where to go to find their learning tools. They love to lie on the rugs during OT time. Students also are so excited to work hard so they can earn a healthy snack throughout the day. Our classroom has become such a happy learning environment.”

• Creating a Safe Space for My Special Students

  My students will be so happy and feel so relaxed with these items for our classroom. The items selected for our classroom will be well used by the students! Having a classroom filled with sensory toys and items that can be used to calm them down will make our classroom such a happy place”

• "Let's Be Creative With Art!"

  My students were so excited to open up the boxes and see all of the new art supplies we received. They couldnt wait to use them. They shared all of the ways they wanted to use the supplies.

  Students created poster boards, books, and posters to put up around the library. They got to share their ideas through art. It was so awesome to see how they all worked together and to see the creativity in their final product was so gratifying.

  Students will continue to use the supplies to create more art from books they read.”

• Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film

  Funded Nov 28, 2023

  You have blessed our "Kohala Voices" Youth documentary film program with laptops. This has made such a big difference on the work we can do with our oral interviews.

  Students are learning how to use Adobe Premium Pro on their laptops. Adobe Premium Pro is a video editing program. It is a video editing program that is a cut above. With this program students can craft a perfect story, add eye catching effects, create animated titles, balance the color, add audio and many other amazing features to their oral interviews

  Our student film makers have been learning so much about editing films and creating short story films. We will one day be able to archive all of these stories to share with the future generation of Kohala. The stories of our elders will forever live on.

• Filling Our Library With New Books About Hawaii.

  Funded Nov 18, 2023

  Our students were so excited to start reading the new books we received. They could not wait to start reading them. It was so great to see them getting excited about reading.

  Many of the books were about Hawaii and the island that we all live on. Students got to learn many new things from these books. I had to come up with a "Hold" list for these new books. They are so popular and students can't wait to get their hands on the next new book to read.

  When students were done reading the book of their choice they were able to share with their class all the new things they learned about Hawaii. Some of them drew posters about the book they read. We received art supplies from another Donors choose project that students will be able to use to get creative and do a art project about each new book read. I am so happy that the students at Kohala Elementary School have been getting excited about reading. Thank you all for your generous donation and getting new books into our library”
