My project aims to ensure my students continue to reach their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. My students require many things to help them reach their goals. I have students with Dyslexia who require instruction in a variety of modalities, such as through kinesthetic techniques. Through manipulating items, students are able to learn things they were unable to retain before. I have students with health impairments that cause muscle weakness, as well as trouble regulating emotions. These students need to release the tension in their arms but do not have a safe method to do so, such as through a resistance band. My students with autism, who have mainstreamed into general education classes, are struggling due to noise levels – an issue that can be maintained through specialized headphones. In our classroom, we also have multiple groups going on at the same time, as well as students using spaces in the room for breaks. My students are doing their best and reaching new goals. They will reach even more heights through the help of these additional accommodations.
