ALLPS Hispanic Heritage Month of Arts
Funded Sep 20, 2024Thank you so very much for your gracious donations. The students at our school were so excited to get the products to use for their Hispanic Month Art activities. We were able to make really great and authentic art with the supplies. The students had several opportunities to participate in events during the month from September 15th and even beyond October 15, we held our main event on October 24th. Where we had dignitaries from our city government, our administration, and a local newscaster emceed the event.
Our school is both an alternative to the city's main campus and a school of innovation. It is our mission to provide opportunities for our students that are at the very least equal to or even greater than the main high school.
The students had so much fun making and hanging the Oyos de Dios made from the yarn. We hung them all over the school. They used the paint pens to design and color "shrinky" plastic alebrijes they made into necklaces. We plan to continue to use the remaining supplies this spring in preparation for next fall.
Again, thank so very much.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Willis
