  • Rehearsal Restock!

    Thank you for your support of this project. Having these resources was immensely helpful this school year. My students were able to ask for them when they needed them. I was able to use them as incentives to reach goals. We were able to do Friday treat at least once a month to encourage practice, good behavior, and community.

    The students were really happy when I told them about the project and had a great time helping open the various packages when they arrived. I hope to launch a new version of this project in the fall to once again provide resources for students that may be food insecure and incentives for students to continue to learn and strive for musical excellence. I hope you will consider donating again for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • Music Books for Virtual Band!

    Funded Aug 20, 2020

    The donations that you generously gave allowed every student to have a band book for this school year. My district has returned to in-person learning with COVID-19 mitigation strategies in place. One of the guidelines for the health and safety of the students is that they do not share resources whenever possible. Thanks to you every student has a band book they can independently learn with at school and feel safe taking home to further practice what they learned in the classroom.

    Many students felt grateful for having a book that will be assigned to them all year. They have been very eager to learn rhythm and notes and write in their books (in pencil so they can erase later). The books have also been a stepping stone for taking their instruments home. Many have been very responsive and bring their book to school from home every class! They will be able to take instruments home in the next couple of weeks to practice at home and prepare for their upcoming virtual winter showcase in December.”

  • Exploring Drums

    On behalf of my students and school, I would like to thank you for your generous donations. The instruments and equipment that was funded by this project will be used by years of T.C. Boushall Middle School students. Unfortunately, the supplies arrived at the start of the Coronavirus Pandemic in the United States, but I hope that they can still be implemented into virtual learning in someway this fall. I know that when my students return to in person education they will be eager and excited to use the instruments that we received.”

Many of my students have an interest in exploring drums and percussion at my school. Unfortunately, we have a small collection of instruments. There often is not enough instruments for everyone interested or enough to play a variety of different music styles. With these instruments, we can maintain the instruments we have longer and more students will have the opportunity to explore drum instruments through diverse music styles. This project will help keep students engaged and excited to develop their drum and percussion skills. The instruments included in this project will allow my students to learn to play music in jazz, Latin, marching, and many more styles.

About my class
