I am driven to provide a student-centered fluid workspace, which promptes collaborative learning. The ability to have flexible seating will allow me as an instructor to promote student engagement. Due to the fact that my classroom is a multigrade level class, flexible seating helps to meet the physical and unique needs of all ages of my learners. Flexible aseating engages and empowers while promoting physical health. Students have choices, based on their individual needs. When students’ needs are meet, a deeper sense of community is built and off-task behaviors decrease. This will allow for movement and a sense of ownership over one’s learning.
