  • 'Uke' Can Make a Difference...x 2!

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous gift! I was able to purchase 14 additional ukuleles, which doubled my number to 28, so now I have enough for a whole class of students to play simultaneously!

As I am preparing to begin ukulele lessons with 5th grade, I've explained to them that last year's students had to share with a partner, and that is no longer the case. They are thrilled!

Better than their excitement is the fact that with more 'play time', there will be more consistent progress for all. I can't wait to see where it takes us!

Thanks again for supporting music in our schools!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. K

  • 'Uke' Can Make a Difference!

    Funded Jan 24, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my music classroom! The ukuleles you provided have certainly enriched the musical experiences of my students.

Students come to class eager to play, learn, and improve their skills on what seems to be their new favorite instrument. They are paired with classmates and love working in a cooperative setting. What a treat it is to see them fully engaged!!

The more we can do to enrich the lives of students with quality and exciting musical experiences, the more likely they are to choose to include music throughout their lives.

Thanks again for helping keep music alive in our schools. 'Uke' made a difference, and we're forever grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. K

These ukuleles will bring additional music experiences into the general music classroom and provide the students with the opportunity to play a stringed instrument. I know my students will be excited to learn how to play the ukulele, as many of them would not have this opportunity otherwise. We need 14 ukuleles, enough for half of a class, as they will be working in pairs cooperatively, assisting each other in learning. By playing ukuleles, we will be able to put into practice reading music, creating music, and practicing the elements of music. My students will also learn responsibility and accountability by handling and caring for the instruments.
