This project's goal is to build a traveling children's museum that will be shared by the entire preschool. By having high quality pretend play items that reflect the real world, our 3 and 4-year-olds will be able to be fully immersed in their pretend play. Our students need a balance of age-appropriate make pretend play items to engage them in the various dramatic themes their teachers' design. Teachers will be able to borrow these materials and share them as they transform their classrooms into a grocery store, restaurant, hospital and zoo. Our young learners are very concrete and need these dramatic play materials to help them identify a role and carry out a specific action during their pretend play. Research shows that when children are engaged in dramatic play they become more mature and are able to accomplish tasks above their age. The science materials will help many teachers provide rich hands-on learning experiences about the world around them. These preschoolers are very interested in the world and a fundamental part of preschool is to answer their never-ending questions. These science materials will help teachers lead important lessons about gravity, magnetism, life science, and engineering. All materials will be shared with the entire preschool which consists of 12 classrooms with students of mixed abilities. Thank you for your continued support.
