  • Play Is the Work Of the Child

    Funded Nov 11, 2024

I am deeply grateful for your contribution. Despite my years of experience in the classroom, I find myself still striving to meet the individual needs of all the learners in my classroom. It is an ever-changing process that requires me to be flexible, growth-oreinted, and reflective.

Your consistent and generous support allows me overcome one major hurdle year after year- providing my students with the hands on materials to engage and sustain their love for learning.

I hope you know that your donations always have a tremendously positive impact on the quality and culture of learning I am able to provide and sustain.

    Thank you, again.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Han

  • We’re back to school!! (In Kindergarten!)

    Funded Aug 3, 2024

Thank you deeply for your support in ensuring a strong start to the school year.

I hope the few pictures I have shared demonstrate how much love and joy my students have brought into our classroom space.

In the first six weeks of school, we have already established so much: routines around play based centers in math, literacy curriculum in reading and writing, and specials time that includes PE and art.

My class of 30 bring A LOT of energy and spunk every single day and I truely believe they deserve the very best when it comes to their education. We have many dreams and goals for this school year and your support made it all possible. Putting together a physical classroom, much less a Kindergarten classroom, from scratch is never easy. However, your generosity provided so many of the essential elements to bring it all together.

    Thank you!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Han

  • Prioritizing Academic Instruction

    Funded Dec 2, 2022

Thank you so much for your contribution!

I am so thrilled and excited to be able to offer my students the scaffolds and tools they need in order to deepen their learning.

I know it will be so impactful in really lifting the cognitive skills we are working on with students to access grade level skills.”

  • ....And We're Back to School!

    Funded Jul 30, 2022

With this project, I was able to create intentional spaces in my classroom to showcase student learning, as well as to support student learning.

Your contribution allowed me to purchase organizational furniture to facillitate multiple modes of learning and engagement (a rack for student lap desks, caddies for supplies...). In addition, I was able to put up bulletin boards that display student work, and a wall for high frequency words for students to refer back to.

My students definitely take so much pride in their learning and in their classroom. I even have students from last year who have peeked in and commented (with some envy!) on how everything looks so different and more spacious. Thank you for helping to kickstart another productive year in first grade!”

    With gratitude,

  • A Classroom Library for Readers

    Funded May 5, 2022

Thank you greatly for your contribution!

With the funds donated, I was able to purchase a new bookshelf, clear book bins, and pockets for the book labels.

It has had such an impact on my students' and the ease with which they are able to access all of the books in our classroom library.

Since reorganizing and enhancing my classroom library and its organization, students have discovered books outside of their comfort zones. In additionally, it has allowed them to feel a greater sense of ownership as they are able to more readily help keep the space organized and tidy.

I am personally so glad my first graders got to experience this right at the end of the school year. As I gear up for a new school year, I feel so much relief that my classroom library will be ready to go.”

  • Chairs for a Lifetime

    Funded Jan 31, 2022

Your contributions for this project helped me to purchase and replace chairs that had been broken. Thank to your donations, I now have a full set of classroom chairs for my 27 stduents!

My students were very excited because they had been used to sliding off the chairs previously, and falling to the ground!

This project was not particuarly glamorous nor exciting, but it was necessary! We have been working hard this year with our play-based learning and obviously chairs are needed for that ; ). We will finish off school year being able to learn with comfort and ease.”

  • Sensory Phonics Materials

    Funded Nov 21, 2021

Your contributions helped fund supplies for my sensory station during play time. Now that we are in the second half of the school year, I am trying to make more conscious efforts to integrate hands-on literacy whenever I can. Because all of my students' Kindergarten year was virtual last year, I have noticed that there are many lasting needs in the area of literacy development.

During play time, the sensory station has now become one of the most popular choices. It has been so fruitful to see previously less-engaged students so excited to choose the sensory station. They have been so excited to work on building their names and their sight words. The different shapes, colors and textures of letters is just the joy and engagment factor my students needed. It has been a wonderful way to integrate even letter and sound recognition work.

I hope to continue to use the sensory and hands on materials in my stations, especially to keep reinforcing literacy skills. They require a lot of upkeep, and can get quite costly but your contributions have eased so much of the pressure teachers often face in funding these supplies themselves. Thank you deeply!”

  • 1st Grade- We're Back!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Your contributions allowed me to purchase seat cushions, and organization supplies for my classroom.

Our class was restructured this year to allow for more structured play and collaborative tables groups.

Our students have loved being able to talk and work with each other.

In addition to the different types of seating and chairs I provide, the cushions provided just the perfect amount of comfort, as well as boost in height that my students needed.

It may seem insignificant, but it was one of the many details that go into physically providing an inclusive classroom.

Once again, my deepest appreciations for your contribution!”

  • Learning Through Inquiry and Play

    Funded May 2, 2021

Thanks to your contributions, I was able to create art stations, building stations (with Magnatiles, building blocks, Legos and more!), sensory stations, and even a dramatic play area!

I absolutely cannot wait for my students to enter back to school (for the first time, for many), and just dive into these play centers. I know it is going to go such a long way in helping to ease a lot of the trepidation that may accompany coming back to school.

These play centers will be such a natural and beautiful way to help students bridge their social-emotional learning and academic learning. And, most importantly, it will simply bring so much joy into our school day.

Your generous contributions made all of this so possible, and I am so grateful!

    Thank you!!”
