This project is in hope of getting funding to get the costumes that my students need for our black history month play. This is our FIRST production. The name of our play is called "What will you be the first to do?" This is a story created by the students on how African American figures that were the first to create many inventions and etc., have inspired them. There is various art forms expressed during this show to give all students the opportunity to express themselves. Teaching the arts have always been my passion. Working in an under served community has truly been a blessing. Many of my students have stated that this fine arts program is helping them be more confident about themselves and keeping them out of trouble. Due to funding, we lack the essentials to bring this ultimate theatre experience to life sufficiently. We will be using these costumes ALL year to enhance the quality of our upcoming showcase. With these items we will be able to continue to use them for years to come as we grow in our program.
