JUST NOTICE: Teaching quiet connection to the body and mind and breathwork. "Deep diaphragmatic breathing is a powerful anxiety-reducing technique because it activates the body’s relaxation response. It helps the body go from the fight-or-flight response of the sympathetic nervous system to the relaxed response of the parasympathetic nervous system". This area will allows students to use of each of their senses to bring them back to balance. Notice with your eyes, ears, smell, taste,touch and reduce anxiety. Living Wall backdrop -Viburnum, 7g, -African Iris 1g, -Lantana 1g, -Rosemary 1g -Mint/Thyme 1g - Mexican Petunia 3g - Drift Roses - Student contributions of plantings that classes can grow and plant (all hardy/drought tolerant, freeze resistant and low maintenance) -Reflection benches- situated in front of living wall- surrounded by plants/nature. - Bird feeder/bird bath/ bird houses All garden tools and protective wear will be used in this space JUST GROW. "Horticultural therapy techniques are used for students to learn new skills or regain those that are lost. Students will learn to improve memory, cognitive abilities, task initiation, language skills, and socialization as well as strengthen muscles, improve coordination, balance, and endurance. Students will gain abilities to work independently, problem solve, and follow directions." All seeds, growing material, soil, etc as well as garden tools JUST FLOW. Art therapy will teach our students to explore their emotions, improve self-esteem, relieve stress, improve symptoms of anxiety and depression, and cope with a physical illness or disability. - Chalk paint on existing picnic tables, water painting, zen sand creation - Fence decor/designs - Cinder block wall/planter- painted by students - Crochet for trees and area fencing "Yard/yarn Bombing" JUST FEEL. Students learn cause and effect, power and calm. - Interactive water wall- decorated by students, Sensory pathway, - Interactive sound therapy
