My students love learning through hands-on materials! They are able to explore meaningful language through Play-Doh, art materials, and LEGOs. So many communication skills are developed through play, such as using sentences, describing, turn taking, imaginative play, labeling, problem solving, etc. My articulation students are motivated when they have fun and engaging materials to use while targeting speech sounds. The Super Duper Jumbo Artic Drill Book is needed to maximize the amount of speech sounds produced for each speech session. (My former speech drill book is 14 years old and is falling apart). The Hi-Lo Nonfiction Passages for Struggling Readers book will help my middle school students learn strategies necessary for comprehension and determining the meanings of unfamiliar words, while building their vocabulary. My students would greatly benefit from the endless amounts of communication opportunities that these materials would create!
