I Wish Upon a Laminator
Funded Feb 29, 2020Technology is something that is around us and at times can be taken for granted. The smallest innovation from the pencil to the pencil sharpener were designed and used to make our lives more efficient. My students were able to learn patience for the time we had the materials from this project.
The students love the laminator. They love how it preserved their keepsakes. I told them of how I used the laminator incorrectly on a sonogram and how precious the sonogram was and it destroyed the sonogram, though I was trying to preserve it I should have been more patient with what I cared so deeply.
I was surprised to see how the gentleman in the class were just as intrigued in the preservation benefit of using a laminator. It helped us really think about what technology actually is.”

Help My Students Ease Into Their Work
Funded Mar 1, 2020My students will be using this new resource after the COVID pandemic is resolved. I was fortunate enough to receive the delivery right before the school closed. It has been a transition to remote learning that we did not prepare for. I am excited to get back to the classroom when it is safe.
When the delivery came the students were in shock because the box was so big. I even assembled the easel right there. We were all so excited. It is the best easel for us to be able to collaborate and learn at the same time. It will allow for multiple groups to leave their learning living on classroom walls when we return.
The next steps with this project will be able to commence once we are able to return to the building safely. I feel good that I even assembled it before the lockdown.”

3rd Grade Document Camera and Markers!
Funded Feb 3, 2020Most of my students have a lack of access to technology at home especially technology that can support their studies. They are knowledgeable about how to use the technology but it always has its limitations which is why the document camera is such a great addition to the classroom.
This technology has helped my students learn because they no longer have to abstractly speak about content they are now able to present their findings and scratch work for all to see and discuss.
This new product is so exciting because it was so easy to set up. They expected it to take 100 years to "add new technology" but this document camera was 1 2 3!
Some of my students who love to draw took to this technology because now they do not have to sneak and share illustrations I can simply put it up under the document camera for all to see. This has minimized behaviors now that sharing illustrations on the document camera is now an incentive.”
