In order to be successful, my students need the material to do so and Chromebook seem to be the best need in our classroom. I feel that having more Chromebooks in my classroom will help my special education students be able to achieve anything they set their minds too. They won't have the limits of technology standing in there way. In my high school special education classroom right now we only have 5 Chromebooks. I run a resource room so at most times there are at least 12 students in my classroom at a time. I have 29 students that I see throughout a school day. During one resource period, only 5 students are able to use the computer for homework and classwork. Since we only have 5 chrome books, it is hard to let each student complete work when they need too. They have to take turns and share in order to all have access to a Chromebook. Some of my upperclassman have been using the chrome books to start applying for jobs or applying to colleges. The lessons that I will teach with this technology is social skills to my students who are on the spectrum. I also will be teaching my students who has learning disabilities better ways to learn outside the box. I will mostly use these chrome books to teach my 21st century skills class. This class is a class about 21st century skills and helping my special education student be ready once they graduate high school. We work on interviews, job applications, resumes, dress for success, and cover letters. I also working on teaching my students how to budget and prepare for the outside world once they leave the walls of the high school.
