  • Hands-on Math!

    Funded Jan 12, 2021

Thank you so much for the math manipulatives.

My students were so excited to come to the school and pick up their materials. They had to wait a few days to use them as I wanted to wait until all of the students picked up their manipulatives. The students asked every day when we would use them. Once we began to use them, they enjoyed having physical manipulatives to use.

My students have been using the place value blocks and tens frames daily. The math manipulatives have helped them learn how to add two-digit and three-digit numbers, identify tens, hundreds, and ones As well as regroup when adding and subtracting. Learning at home is very difficult for seven and eight-year-olds. These manipulatives have made it much easier especially for my special education students. We are so grateful for your generous contribution to our class.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Harding

A new MacBook Pro would allow me to engage my students in more interactive lessons. My school laptop blocks many resources that my student can use to enhance their learning. Although, I am at home using my own WiFi, there are websites that are still blocked. I have come across many great resources on the internet that would make my lessons more engaging. My students are 100% remote and are in front of the computer for an extended period of time. Many of my students' parents are essential workers and cannot be at home to help their children. Interactive lessons will be easier to understand and make learning more fun. This MacBook Pro will also provide me with a second screen so that I can see ALL of my students while presenting my lesson. Sometimes my students become frustrated or upset when they are raising their hands to answer a question and I cannot see them.
