  • Comfy Flex Seating

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

    We are so thankful for the many choices of flex seating that you have contributed to our classroom! Students use bean bags and camping chairs for reading, group and solo work! The small stools for small group work. Wiggle seats for their chairs when they need a little extra movement. Our wobble stool moves around the classroom from kiddo to kiddo. Almost every kid is using the fidget strip on their desks and chair bands daily. Thank you so much for your support! We are incredibly grateful for your generosity!”

  • Providing Hours of Fun With Board Games for 5th Graders!

    Ms. Meza and I thank you so much for your generosity!! The board games funded through this project have brought such joy and excitement to our classroom on Friday afternoons during choice time. We are incredibly happy to be able to give the kids an opportunity to play and socialize in a meaningful and engaging way. They are eager to try the new games every week and choose partners based on similar interests thus creating new friendships within the classroom.   • Fill Our Classroom Library with Exciting, High Interest Books!

    Thank you so much for your generous donation of books to our classroom! They have been a BIG hit and got our students excited and engaged in reading even more than before!

    We used many of the books for our previous character study unit where students chose their own books to read independently. We had lessons on characters traits where students used post it's to find many instances of traits and how their characters actions impacted the story.

    We were also able to use some of the books for social emotional learning in the classroom. We use them as read alouds which helped us guide conversations within the classroom. Rachel and I are so appreciative of your donation to our classroom!”

Our students will have the opportunity to engage with interesting and exciting fiction texts! Students will have a chance to read fiction books to refine their reading and comprehension skills, to increase their reading stamina and raise their reading levels over time. These amazing books will also give students a chance to engage their imagination and apply it in their own writing! There are many opportunities for the students to practice writing their own books over the course of the year. The books will be great in a class reference point for them. The books will also be read during independent reading time and taken home to ensure all students have access to great books, which some might not have the opportunity to otherwise!

About my class
