Escaping into Literature
Funded Mar 23, 2023The funding of this project has changed the daily routine in my classroom. You have provided resources for my students' favorite time of the day! The time where we can gather as a group, on the carpet, and escape into the world of literature. My students love reading books together and sharing their opinions and feelings on the novels. It gives my struggling students the opportunity to relate to their higher performing peers and to access magical stories that are above their reading level. Thank your for giving them this opportunity! I read these stories aloud to my students and test their comprehension weekly. These books can also be tested on and help students reach their individualized goals in the Accelerated Reader program.”

Thinking About Third!
Funded Jun 17, 2022I have been able to use the items that you donated to help my students grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. The book were the perfect tool to introduce new friendship opportunities and discuss the importance of kindness. Students ended this with making friendship cookies. Students have use the math manipulatives to help them understand multiplication and division. I can not wait to use them to introduce area, perimeter, fractions, and time. Thank you so much for your willingness to contribute to our classroom.”

This classroom project was brought to life by General Motors and 8 other donors.Working With Words!
Funded Feb 11, 2021Thank you so much for your help to make this project come to life! My students are thoroughly enjoying the alpha writers. We use them to learn about word families. They get spelling words each week and we practice these words using the alpha writers. These boards foster so many areas of development. I am especially excited to see how they effect students' fine motor development and critical thinking skills. They have to maneuver the letters in a certain way to get them in the right order. I also allow them time to play with it with an activity of their choice. It is cool to see the various ways that they choose to use it. Some sort by color, some make words, some write and make their names. You have helped bring so much excitement to my students' learning and I cannot thank you enough!”

Calling All Crates!
Funded Dec 31, 2020This donation has been such a blessing to our classroom. The crates are used daily and have provided students with a private area for storing their belongings. They use them to store book bags, coats, lunchboxes, and assignments. It gives my classroom more organization and less chaos and clutter. My students are very appreciative and have developed a routine with these crates. The crates have helped students gain more independence by allowing them to put away their own things and keep their area nice and clean. Thank you again for your kind acts!”
