The importance of the tablet/iPad cover is that it provides security for an expensive item that cannot be replaced in the foreseeable future due to budget cuts. We have lost a couple of iPads that we cannot replace due to accidents (such as them falling off a desk or out of a kid's hands). Our students are from a low socio-economic neighborhood in Camden, NJ. The price for replacing a tablet could be a huge burden on a family. Also, our current classroom budget is zero dollars, so it is impossible for the district to absorb the cost. These are some of the reasons why it is crucial to protect our investment. Preserving our iPads will ensure future academic success.
