My students have been through so much during their short time in school. Last year they were faced with going to school during a pandemic. A lot of them did not attend school in person and the ones that did had to adjust to the new norms. This year we were uprooted and out of school for a month due to Hurricane Ida. I want to make sure I give my students the best instruction to help them become successful readers. These literacy centers will make learning fun while helping them build the skills they need to become better readers. They will be able to play games such as “fishing for sight words” and build silly sentence with a magnet board and word tiles. They will be able to use Hear Myself Sound Phone. This amazing tool allows the students to hear themselves read or sound out words. Once I have the centers, I will be able to break them up into groups and assign them a center based on their needs.
