We will be using this text as a part of the Holocaust unit within our Language Arts classroom. Our main focus is on differences in perspectives and how they affect different events. The unit will utilize several non-fiction articles that discuss varying events and stories that they may not have heard before involving the Holocaust with this text spanning over the entirety of the unit. This text will help my students to see a perspective not often discussed in the study of the Holocaust. Lessons include determining fact vs. opinion, how to make inferences within a text, and making connections between the text and world.
