We have been working on a research project for Bluebirds in 4th grade ELA. Students researched bluebird habitats, box locations, and looked at the current location of our 10 current bluebird boxes. We are going to be relocating the bird boxes to a proper location on the school grounds and providing protection from predators. This project was based on the students' research. We determined that the bluebird boxes were incorrectly placed next to our parking lot, providing a home for an invasive species, House Sparrows, to move in. Adding the buckets will also prevent snakes and other predators from getting inside the boxes.
