First Steps in Audio Engineering
Funded May 7, 2024Last night, our students got a chance to really use the materials within the project. During the beginning of the project one of the guitarists was hooked up to a wireless system as well as myself. Prior to the concert, the 4th and 5th graders were given a "crash course" in how to set up the stage with the audio equipment and participate in a sound check with the microphones and others systems. We will continue to provide students with an ongoing education about how to use the materials to record using their computers as a part of an annual unit about being a sound producer within the 5th grade.”

Funded Mar 29, 2024It is still fairly early to show the impact of this project. However, I can share with you that the students have already in four weeks have completely learned three books (with classes once a week), and we have discussed character, plot, rhyming and iambic pentameter. Of course, we kept things at their grade level but the students are asking for more books to be done.
Looking further ahead into next year, the books purchased for this project will help students with their literacy skills and be possibly used in the music class and beyond. The student are learning to read and sing the books. In one class I had a student lead the entire book and read it to the others. This class was a 1st grade class and the book was "There Was A Man And He Was Mad". It was a great moment to see a musical leader in class!”

Funded Sep 20, 2023This project has been a huge success! Not only have we enough materials to maximize the concepts of pitch within the music classroom. In addition to teaching the concept of pitch, I was able to bring the students for extra music lessons to assist 2nd grade teachers in completing their unit on Sound.
I have also started to give some lessons on working with others in an ensemble. Skills such as leadership, owner of learning and working as a team to achieve a musical product. The latest achievement results in my 2nd and 3rd graders playing songs one them.
The next steps in this project will be to put them together with boomwhackers and create a pitched percussion ensemble. Your donations are not just going to the short term but rather the long term music development as well as supporting other subjects outside of music.”

Funded Jul 25, 2023First, I cannot begin to express the support for my classroom! These new instruments have enabled the students to show steady beat for a longer amount of time in the first 2 units of study this year. Due to an increase of percussion instruments, provided by you the donors, I have been able to have students as young as Kindergarten spend over 15 minutes on an instrument each activity. In previous experiences, the time may have been about half the time. The rhythm activities done, thus far, with the new materials have supported social emotional learning/cooperative skills by working together.
The rhythm activities are not the only method for these materials. I have been able to incorporate them in the upper elementary grades to be played on our upcoming concert. This opens up a different pathway for students to get involved in music that may not feel confident in their singing abilities.
Thank you so much for the contribution and please check back on other projects I do in the future for our students. We are building and on the road to try to have a top notch and welcoming musical space for all learners!”

Mr. Endres
Music Teacher Needs HELP NOW!
Funded Jan 23, 2020On behalf of my students I would like to thank you! I have now begun to teach at two different school sites and this is simply amazing. I shared with my students about the generosity of the donors and they were amazed to say the least! As for me, I can not thank you enough! It means a great deal to me that people are donating their hard earned money to supply something for this program! Once again, thank you so very much!”
