  • Ms. Adams' Amazing All-Star Readers!

    Funded Dec 14, 2023

First off, let me start by saying thank you for taking the time and effort to support my students in their learning. We as teachers could not do this (sometimes thankless) job without the support of donors such as yourself. I educate 5th grade scholars at a Title I public elementary school in an urban school district. My students aren't always accustomed to receiving resources/gifts that propel their education. When they first saw the boxes of playground equipment, their eyes lit up! I've had some basketballs and soccer balls donated in the past, but not all students want to play with these. Giving my students more options, such as the set of hula hoops and carrying case, allowed for a more inclusive play time.

We also utilize the Expo markers every day during our math block. A huge surprise for my students was the addition of new books to our classroom library. They love to read and are required to complete at least 15 minutes each night, so having a better selection to choose from was a plus for them. The scholars in Room 15 and I want to sincerely thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity. You are much appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Adams

  • Library Books for Adams’ All-Stars!

    Funded Jan 4, 2020

My students have now been completely funded thanks to you! As our 3rd 9 weeks begins, they’ll be thrilled to see all the new books to choose from! It truly makes them each light up when I announce any new additions to my library! We are so appreciative of your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Adams

These materials will allow my students a wider range of books to choose from in an effort for them to meet all of their Accelerated Reader goals each 9 weeks. I have a wide range of readers in my classroom, as well as many English as a Second Language readers. My goal is to be able to offer them books on their levels, as well as books above their level in hopes of raising their comprehension. They love to read one on one with me as well, even if it is books in their native language. They are able to see great progress when they are successful in taking their accelerated reader tests after finishing the books. My students are also allowed to participate in incentive parties when they have met all of their goals! They all look forward to this each nine weeks!
