These items will help my students self regulate and to learn through sensory. Flexible seating is helpful for students who need to move while learning, conventional seating makes it very difficult for them. Due to the students in my classroom with their various disabilities, I have created a sensory area in my classroom, and the trampoline I currently have is falling apart, this is a vital part of this area. As my children enter my room they jump on the trampoline and then point to the feelings chart to identify their emotions at that time. They can return to the sensory area as needed while working in my room. I work with students of all ages with many different disabilities. I use different methods to reach each student, this may include sensory tools, technology, games, stories, manipulatives, and paper-pencil tasks. I have found that my students do learn best when they can use their hands along with their eyes and ears to learn. The sensory literacy activity will be essential for those students who are currently struggling to learn their letters and sounds.
