Why use flexible seating? If a classroom is intentionally designed to support different modes of learning children are more apt to stay engaged – for example, individual study, group work, presentations, peer-to-peer discussion, and one-on-one instruction (Psychology Today).
Five and six-year-old children are not built to sit in traditional tables and chairs! They need to lay on their tummies and have seating that supports their core. They need to explore, create, communicate and the furniture plays a critical role in their development for it provides the setting and ease for small group instruction, individual learning space, and imaginative inquiry.
The opportunities are endless with flexible seating!
