Headphones are used in the computer lab for many reasons. They are used for standardized testing, learning programs, and other miscellaneous computer activities. Currently, our computer lab is using headphones that are not high quality, not heavy duty, and they break or stop working partially or completely. We also don't have enough headphones for the 29 computers that are in the computer lab, so some students have to do without them. With almost 400 students using these computers weekly (sometimes more than once a week), most headphones are lucky if they can make it past a year of use. These headphones I have chosen for this project are heavy duty and built with kids in mind. I believe they would be the best fit for our computer lab with the amount of students coming in every week as well as their durability for future use. With these new heavy duty headphones, students won't have to worry about bothering other students when on the computer because there wasn't enough pairs of headphones for them to use. Students love going onto the computers here at Escalante to learn, create, and play. I want to ensure that every student and every available computer has access to one pair of headphones so that they can focus their attention, take tests effectively, avoid distracting others, and enjoy their computer time with no worries on whether they will get headphones that day.
