When my students enter the speech classroom, they often ask to play a game. They enjoy participating in activities that are presented in a fun, interactive manner. My students are motivated by activities that require turn-taking and socialization. Games provide a way for my students to learn and acquire language and communication skills in a comfortable, stress free manner. The games selected will be used to teach age appropriate social and academic skills, with an emphasis on pragmatic language. Through games, they learn life skills, such as, how to take turns, engage in conversation, predict and plan, while acquiring necessary academic skills as well.
