I am always looking for ways to motivate my students in a fun (and hopefully still academic) way. I want to encourage my students to complete their work and work on other goals, such as their behavior and social skills. These fun STEM activities will be part of my classroom reward system and will help motivate my special needs students to always do their best. In my class my students earn money after they complete a task and it has been corrected, and any mistakes have been fixed. This money can then be turned in for a break time. I want to provide my students with fun STEM activities to earn as a break so they can still be learning while having fun. Some of these activities on my list include: a building set, marble maze set, building blocks, and more. Games, such as the Robot Face Race and darts, can provide students with a way to work on their social skills while playing with a classmate, and on their behavior skills such as taking turns and what to do when you win or lose a game. The wax yarn product is to give students a fun way to work on their letters, numbers, and shapes. They can also use it to create art. The great thing about everything on my list is that it can be used over again, so each item will continue to support students year after year. So even though it says this project will only benefit 30 students, it will actually benefit a lot more than that.
