  • Cots Needed!

    Thank you so much for your generous donation! Because of your donations, my students have the luxury of sleeping on new beds! They were so excited to see their new beds and they are loving them and enjoying them! Again, thank you!

    When the three boxes arrived, they were excited to see what was inside. They helped open the boxes as a group. When they opened one of the boxes, a student yelled out with excitement, "Yes! We have new green beds." It was so nice to hear their joy and excitement for their new beds. Because their days are filled with action packed activities, they deserve a relaxing and adequate amount of sleep to help improve their attention, behavior, learning, memory, and overall mental and physical health. Sleep is the time for restoration and for children's bodies to recharge and retain the information they have learned throughout the day. Sleep is key for my children's development. Thank you for giving my students comfy cots to get an adequate amount of sleep!

    Our next steps are to continue to promote the benefits of getting good rest. We will conduct a lesson as to why it is important and how great sleep can be beneficial for their growth and development.”

Reading stories can be helpful for relaxation. They allow children to forget the stresses and strains of the day and indulge in fantasy for a while. The soothing familiarity of a much-loved story, the rhyming and repetition in a picture book, plus the sense of security that time spent reading together can foster, all help the child to relax. Stories play a vital role in the growth and development of children. The books they read and the characters they get to know can become like friends. It’s also good for children to understand that books are a useful source of information and that good reading skills are important for success in their future lives. Reading also helps children with their confidence levels, coping with feelings and language and learning.

About my class
