My students learn from example, and from each other. My goal is for the children to be able to interact with each other to practice skills being introduced. For example, when students are learning about “emotions” visual feedback is important so that they understand what frown, or smile loos like on a person’s face. The students will learn turn-taking skills, and comprehension will improve. Group verbal interactions will occur; improving social skills. When I introduce a skill, “closed sentences,” when we are at the desk, we will have opportunities to come together as a group and practice “closed” sentences using visual assistance.
