These materials will provide students both in the classroom and at home a chance to have the same materials and be ready and prepared to learn. My goal is to create baggies of needed school supplies and materials in order for them to have an equitable chance at learning that parents can pick up. These school supplies, along with SEL resources will assist the students in learning through a growth mindset. Some specific learning outcomes we will be focusing on are strengthening math skills in number sense, problem-solving, representation, measurements, and patterns. Making sense of STEM concepts using technology, writing, and cross-curricular instruction will be a top priority. Basic skills reviews will be routine as creating a strong foundation will only better the students in successfully mastering abstract, higher-level thinking skills. Additionally, working on skills such as self-regulation, feedback taking/giving, questioning, and research/inquiry can be learned through using these supplies as they will have the materials they need in order to explain, illustrate, cite, apply, evaluate, create, analyze, and more. I know a lot of students are worried, especially with some of their parents being unemployed during this unprecedented time, about being able to access general school supplies. In order to help them get closer to "normal," this project may really help them.
