  • Explore Pre K With Sensory and Hands on Learning

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom. The students were so happy to explore and play with the new materials. I do not have the words to express my gratitude for your support for our project. We try to offer as many opportunities to our students as we can, and your support makes it possible for us to continue to do this. The supplies that you are providing for my students will allow us to teach/reinforce appropriate ways to play and interact with their peers and that will help the students and their families now and in the future. My children have a lot of sensory needs and the materials you provided help them regulate their emotions. I appreciate your interest and support so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paulsen

  • Sensory Tools

    Funded Mar 20, 2022

Thank you so much for helping my students with getting the sensory tools they so desperately need to be successful during the school day. My student have special needs and need constant sensory breaks throughout the day. They love using all the sensory tools you so graciously funded. The wiggle pen and the weighted lap pals are great tools to help my students calm down and maintain focus on daily activities. The other teachers and paraprofessionals in our classroom are forever grateful for helping aid our students with the tools they need to be successful though out the school year.”

  • Art Supplies

    Funded Sep 17, 2021

Thank you so much for helping fund our project! We have already used so many of the materials to create amazing art projects like emotions faces, animals and even life size self portraits. The art supplies have been an essential part of our classroom to bring the student's creativity to the surface and have them use multi-sensory tools to create masterpieces. The biggest project we have completed are our life size self portraits. The children loved creating themselves and using various art materials like the paint markers as well as the dot dot markers. Thank you again for your help to fund this project for us!”

  • Remote Learning Materials for Naina!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity of contributing to my student's donor choose project. The student used these resources while we were shut down due to the pandemic. They were super excited to receive the materials through the mail and were totally over the moon to explore them. I used these materials on my live lessons and they really enjoyed the new interesting materials I was able to get through Donors Choose.

These materials made my live lessons more inviting and fun. The student wanted to participate more and were excited to show me what else they received. Thank you again for all your support with this project.”

My students are about to enter the most important part of their lives. Pre-K is the time where children ages three and four begin to socialize and create relationships. Gross motor play in Phys-ED is the perfect instructional setting where students interact with each other through play which helps build their social emotional cognitive skills. These skills require a fun and adventurous setting to be accomplished. Unfortunately, the journey for our special education students will often be long and difficult especially when accompanied by a sensory processing disorder. With the right equipment our staff will be able to meet the sensory and social needs of the children. The ability of having a sensory gym in our school would allow students to become sensory savvy. Sensory savvy students will be able to self-regulate their bodies. This self-soothing will allow them to learn basic life skills such as language, relationship building, gross and fine motor skills.
