  • Technology Take Off!

    Thank you so much for your generosity. We have been utilizing the document camera and mini projector in the classroom and around the school ever since our project was funded. My students love being able to move the projector around the room since it is cordless and so versatile.

    This has added new levels of engagement to my math instruction in particular. Many students who were reluctant to share their work have developed more interest now that they can use the new document camera in conjunction with the projector. This has helped us grow as mathematicians!

    Ever since COVID, students have come to us with more learning gaps than ever. This addition of easy to use and transportable technology has made my teaching so much smoother. Now I have more time to plan better learning experiences for my students!

  • Ready...Set...Hybrid

    Thank you so much for your generous support of this project. The impacts of COVID were felt heavily in our school setting. However, the addition of an iPad to our classroom has been unbelievably beneficial. For example, we are able to create fun digital games for students to play while in the classroom. We also can have students use data collecting software to help us determine more about them as learners. Undoubtably the most invaluable part of having this iPad is as a second screen when teaching virtually. I am able to project my screen while in Google Meet and use my iPad as a white board. Drawing with your finger instead of a mouse is life changing! My students instantly know when I am using my iPad instead of my computer. They also love the freedom having a second screen provides me. Instead of switching between tabs I can see them while also using a projected teaching screen. This helps us use our time more wisely.

    All the binders funded by this project have been put to excellent use as well. Recently our district returned to full remote instruction. I was able to send home binders full of reading materials to help give students a physical copy of what I am projecting while I teach.

Flexible seating will allow my students more choice within my classroom. We are constantly working toward improving our understanding of the way our minds work. My students will learn to be reflective in their seating options by finding which type of seat works best for them. Some students will enjoy the wobble or wiggle seats which encourage constant motion, while others will enjoy the stable, but interesting stool option. The ownership they take in choosing their seat will help foster their independence in learning. I am asking for funds to purchase 4 wobble seats, 2 wiggle seats, and 5 colorful stools to add to my classroom. Flexible seating options encourage flexible thinkers! Many of my students are very active in their learning, the wobble stools and wiggle seats allow students to constantly move while sitting. These learners do best when they can silently move their bodies while listening. Additionally, several students will benefit immensely by improving their core strength as they use these seats more often. The stools and wobble seats provide an exciting addition to our classroom environment and will continue to foster my student's love of learning.
