My students log in to distant learning every day ready to learn. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them the opportunity to have just the basics to complete day to day learning. My students come from low income households. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. I teach in a school district with a very high poverty rate and with the pandemic going on the parents don’t have the resources that they need to buy more supplies for their students. These supplies will be extremely beneficial for my students.
Every day I hear the background noise that these students have to contend with. Some students can’t here the lesson because of the noise. This at no fault of their own or the parents. Everyone is learning how to navigate this on-line learning process. Headphones are great for the kids because they can practice on their own, get comfortable and then be fully engaged in the lesson.
The pandemic has caused us to learn how to teach differently and to learn new strategies to help our student grow academically. I do not want my students not to have the supplies they need to do their very best. I have also though a great deal about the needs of students that may not get a healthy snack at home during this time. Students that are hungry cannot focus on learning. I want the very best educational opportunities for my students and if they don’t have notebooks or something to write with, they cannot do their best. They are doing the best that they know to do. I would like to make it just a little easier on their parents.
