Coming out of a pandemic, I really want the first book I read with my seniors to be something they can easily connect with, and at the same time add some humor into class time, since their past couple of years have not been so fun learning at home. This is the perfect text to start off our year together, especially, when they have the daunting task of writing personal statements to submit to colleges. This is a great memoir to help them study the art of narrative, anecdotes, and a variety of text structures.
