Mastering Math
Funded Feb 8, 2023My students were so excited to get all of the flash cards and domino games for math. Both sets of materials have had addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, time and fractions.
These materials have been used in whole groups and small group settings that have been a specific focus during our daily lessons and intervention opportunities. My students have been getting faster and faster at their addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts since we have had these materials for them to strengthen all of their math skills.”

Funded Oct 26, 2022My students have been able to jump into all of the materials for the "Endless Words" Donors Choose project. The materials allow the students to create words and learn about words to increase their vocabulary skills.
When our boxes were delivered to my classroom, the students immediately knew that learning was going to get even more exciting. The students were very excited to get the magnetic boards and magnet letters so they could practice making words that focused on word families (ee, ea, i_e).
We will be testing soon for the district reading test, I will be able to determine how these activities and materials have helped my students increase their word skills.”

Funded Apr 12, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity with funding our Reading Project. The resources and activities I was able to purchase are engaging for all of my students.
Each of the activities are items that students are able to interact with on their own or in a group. Students have been so engaged and do not realize that the activities are meant for learning. These types of activities students excel in since it is not one of their textbooks.
Students are learning about letter sounds, letter names, word families, phonics, parts of speech, context clues, vocabulary, and literature skills. These are areas that students had missed during the pandemic and we are making every effort to excel them. These activities and resources are key to that success.
Thank you once again for funding my project. My students are so excited daily to be able to use these materials.”

This classroom project was brought to life by PNC Grow Up Great®.Mastering Reading and Writing
Funded Jun 17, 2021I would like to thank you for your generous gifts. Your support is helping my students to become better readers and writers.
Each day my students are using the activities and games to gain vital reading skills. Many of the students are also using these activities to share the skills with classmates so the other students want to check the activities and games out to learn those skills.
Students are practicing their writing skills and gaining proper writing conventions with the activities we were able to purchase. Even though there is a major focus on technology and using computers for writing stories, the process of writing actually starts with paper and pencil to get the ideas and thoughts organized. The final steps are when the students use the computers to type their work.
Students have been very excited to use the materials especially since they feel it is games and play, but in actuality they are learning through the experiences. Thanks again for all you were able to do for my students.”

Funded Dec 18, 2020Thank you so much for all of you generous gifts. Without your help, students would not have been able to receive additional school supplies this late in the school year.
Our students and parents have been very appreciative of all the resources and supplies for students to continue learning. We will also have additional resources in the event that students return to school sometime this school year.
During these uncertain times, we have all come to realize how thankful we are for any bit of help we can get to make an impact on student education. This has helped not only families, but us as educators as well, since most of what we need we pay for. Thank you again for all the support and help!”

Funded Feb 11, 2021"Celebrating Student Success!" was a project put together to celebrate our students academic achievements during virtual learning. Students are working as hard as they can to achieve success and master new knowledge.
As I begin to deliver items to students at their homes, the excitement of seeing their teacher in person has really cheered them up. Parents are very grateful for the gifts and knowledge that learning virtually is still showing positive results.
The major thanks go out to you, as donors. These resources have also taken a burden off of my shoulders as a teacher who is not able to run out and on my own purchase these items. Thank you!!!”

Funded Jan 6, 2020Thank you very much for contributing to our Donors Choose Project. The materials that were purchased have begun to assist students with learning all six mathematical areas ( Operations and Algebraic Reasoning, Numbers, Fractions, Algebra, Measurement and Data, and Geometry).
As students use the materials and gain mathematical knowledge, we will be able to push them further towards grade level expectations. The engaging materials allow students to be working in all six mathematical areas each day in addition to their regularly daily mathematical instruction which may only focus on one of the six specific areas.
The students that especially enjoy the mathematical materials are those that are currently excited to do math. Of the class, about 50 percent of them look forward to the additional materials. When we are done working with the pages each day, we do a classroom discussion so students can share what they worked on and explain what mathematical strategies they enjoyed while learning.”
