I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous donation to our high school chemistry class here in the Bronx. As a Title 1 school with students considered "in need," your support has been a game-changer. Your contribution has ignited engagement among my peers, sparking a genuine interest in chemistry that may have remained dormant otherwise. It's given us an incredible opportunity, one that we wouldn't have had without your kind gesture. Your belief in our potential inspires us every day, and we are determined to make the most of this chance. Thank you for making a real difference in our students' lives.”

This is fantastic news, thank you for your contribution in keeping this highly effective tool in engaging and sparking the imaginations of my students. The feedback I have received from this project from past students is one of the reasons why I wake up 4:30am every morning.

  • Online Forensics Kit

    Funded Aug 12, 2020

Typically during "normal times' my students would engage in creating the ultimate crime scene at the end of the hallway. This would show the school the culmination of what was learned through out the year and displayed "by the book" With remote learning being dominant this task was not possible. Enter the Online Experience your funds provided. Based off of a true story of a murder that took place on Long Island in the 1800s (10 minutes from where I live as fate would have it. This offered a real world example , a virtual walk through, and well organized , fair assessments that served a perfect final yearly assessment. Not to mention real life pictures of the farmhouse (which still stands today) that I was able to take on my visit there. I have contacted the Historical Society inquiring about setting up a class trip there too, once Covid guidelines are eased, naturally.

Thank to your donation , not only was the Year in Forensics Final saved with a phenomenal online alternative, but the possibility of future trips becoming part of the curriculum has blossomed as well. Thank you once again for your interest !”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Tsepetis

I teach 10th/11th Grade Chemistry in the Bronx,NY. I am currently covering the History of the Atom and feel a real life demonstration and equipment for a lab of JJ Thompson's Cathode Ray Experiment will not only bring the subject to life but engage the students to appreciate science and experimentation. Something in need not only in the inner city but throughout NYC Education. My plan would be to build one with a class demo, then require groups to build their own in a lab format satisfying NGSS standards as well as NYS Regents Examination Lab requirements. Please help me do this!
