My classroom needs Logitech headsets so the students can use them for in-class projects. These headphones will not only be higher quality, but also have microphones the students can use. Having quality headphones will allow students to use their devices to show their understanding, to create videos explaining their thinking, and communicate better. My class is a very verbal, talkative class. This will give them a great outlet to express themselves on their own Chromebooks individually, and will allow me as their teacher to hear and understand their thinking. Students’ use of technology has increased because of the impacts of Coronavirus. These headphones are something they can use and increase their technological awareness even further, which can help them in future careers. These headphones can be used in several subjects in our fifth grade class. We use our Chromebooks for almost every subject at some point, so I plan on creating several projects they will use the microphones for. Some examples include Flipgrids for reading responses, Book Creator for writing essays, and Adobe Spark for explaining new science content. I also see myself, as the teacher, using a headset in order to create videos to teach my students if we end up teaching remotely due to Coronavirus cases.
