My students learn best when they are able to move while learning. Since we are trying to develop skills that we translate into their general education classroom, we have to find practical solutions that are easy to implement. One way to do this is through flexible seating. Flexible seating gives my students the opportunity to be successful while still allowing them the movement they crave. Many of my students struggle due to disabilities like Autism and ADHD and require near constant movement. Many of my students have struggled in their general education classrooms because of the strict structure of a room which therefore causes the students to have outbursts. However, flexible seating is an easy way to add movement in a classroom and simple to implement into practice.
