January is African American History Month and we go all out. We came up short on art supplies recently due to unforeseen circumstances, however, I need a full range of bright colored construction paper, paint, and oil pastels to make collage projects with my students in grades PreK-8...kente cloth patterns, Rousseau paintings, and African masks. Self-portraits are important too for building self-esteem so mutli-cultural crayon sets with a variety of skin colors will help greatly. In addition, our eight grade students are designing a diversity mural. Designs will be painted with the tempera trays which enable quick painting so students may create numerous designs. Students will vote on the winner or combine 2 or 3 of there favorites for the diversity mural. Thank you so much!
