When the weather and snow conditions allow, students would experience the many benefits of participating in snowshoeing as a lifelong physical activity, and as an opportunity to increase health related fitness. Many games & activities that are done in other physical education classes can be done on snowshoes (tag games, modified sports, relays, games & activities) as well discovering nature's winter wonders while enjoying the schools back fields, fresh air & sunshine and mountain views. Snowshoeing is an opportunity for all students to gain confidence and success, learn about winter safety practices, and build community among their peer group through helping each other through varying challenges.
