  • Modified Scaffolds and Supports in Speech and Language!

    I want to thank everyone who helped me fund this project. As educators we fund most of our materials and it often becomes costly. I appreciate all the support and help from those who contributed.

    The funded copy machine is used daily in my speech room. Students are getting differentiated graphic organizers and homework sheets to aid their language needs. Additionally, I am able to create my own worksheets and create original copies with the machine. Having quick access to a copy machine saves time throughout the day. This provides more time to support my students.”

  • Technology in Speech and Language

    My students are having a blast using the ipad for speech and language. It is being used for AAC purposes, presentation purposes, even reward systems. The ipad is giving a voice for some of my students with limited verbal skills. The students enjoy playing articulation games on the ipad. We even use the camera aspect to provide feedback for misarticulated sounds. The my playhome app is helpful in order to expand expressive language. I am able to the ipad to present interactive PowerPoints which the students love to use. The ipad has been a great addition to my speech materials.”

I am raising money for an iPad for my speech and language students. Technology has been and continues to be on the rise in education. I want my students to have technology advancements during speech and language sessions. I work with students who learn through multimodality approaches. Having an iPad for sessions will engage my students during lessons. An iPad will allow me to use applications for a variety of tasks ranging from articulation through expressive/receptive language tasks. Additionally, and iPad will serve as a positive reinforcement for my students. The use of technology during speech will captivate students attention. Also, an iPad will allow me to play videos and design slide shows in order to enhance lessons. I greatly appreciate everyone who takes out the time to read and donate to my cause.
