Tools for My Students and My Home Office/Classroom
Funded Jan 15, 2021Thank you so much for your support in this project. The chair has been an excellent addition to my home office. I never thought I would need to turn a spare room in my house into a classroom, but I did and it has worked out quite nicely given the circumstances! I am much more comfortable and do not have any more back pain!
My students love to read the Paddington "I can read" books to their classmates. The books are perfect for kindergarten students. They challenge them without being intimidating. My students have made me so proud this year and I love to provide them with as many opportunities to read as possible.
Lastly, I was able to distribute the dry erase packets to them. This made sure they always had something to write on handy. My students were able to practice their writing and drawing. All these materials made my remote teaching school year much easier.”

Ms. Ashley
Remote Teaching Supplies!
Funded Dec 1, 2020I have using my supplies for a few weeks now and they have made my lessons more effective! My students that are learning to read are enjoying using the "I can read" books and reading to their classmates. Pete the Cat is a classroom favorite, so I love to have as many of those books on hand as possible.
My students are also learning to read three letter words, so the build a word magnetic boards are greatly supporting them in that skill. We work together and identify the sounds in the words and they are able to spell them. They are extremely proud of themselves when they are able to complete this task!
We are also learning the basics of addition and subtraction. I am using the number bond magnetic boards when teaching math. These are extremely helpful as it allows my students to visually see how math works and the breakdown of numbers.
I am very grateful to have these supplies to make my lessons work effective and fun for my students! Thank you for your thoughtfulness, it is so appreciated!”

Funded Oct 23, 2020I have been using my document camera while remote teaching for a few months now and has been a game changer. Reading stories has been so much easier. My students are able to see the pictures in the story and are able to comprehend what is being read with the help of this camera. I am also able to have my students read to me, which has been so helpful with their developing reading skills! It is hard to teach remotely, especially kindergarten, where students are being introduced to so many new skills, but devices like this document camera are making the learning process while not in person a little bit smoother. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for acknowledging that us teachers are doing the best we can. I am trying my very best to make this school year as effective as possible.”

Effective Remote Teaching!
Funded Sep 16, 2020It has been a little over two months since I began this school year. I was completely overwhelmed at what this school year was going to be like. It was my first year teaching kindergarten since I started my career in education in 2006. I wasn't sure what to expect or how my students would adapt to remote learning. The day before school started my new device arrived and it has been so wonderful in helping me teach. My MacBook is extremely reliable and allows me to teach in my classroom or in my home. I am on a Zoom meeting for 6 hours every day so the importance of having a reliable device that I can bring with me wherever I go has been crucial. If anything will come out of this school year I hope it is that I am a better teacher. I have learned to teach under these circumstances and I am thankful there are donors like you that support and appreciate educators. I am so proud of my students and how well they are doing while learning at home. During times like these it is important that we support each other and do our very best despite what is happening. I am so very appreciative in the generosity you have all shown me.”

Ms. Ashley
